Outlaw is a happy guy. So smart. I'm finding there's no end to
what I can teach him, if I take the time. He's speaking on command
now. We're really close to separating barking from howling. He's
really cute when he howls. He lays his ears back, closes his eyes,
tilts his head up, and puckers his lips. It makes me laugh every
time. I just had my knees reconstructed and now I have to ride a
stationary bike for an hour a day. For the first 5 minutes that I'm
on the bike, Outlaw chases his tail beside me.
We're also working on hand signals. If I can get him to nail the
hand signals all the time, I would like to volunteer our house as a
foster home for deaf/abandoned boxers. When I was looking for
Outlaw, I was looking at adopting a deaf boxer, but at the time, I
didn't have a fenced yard. I'm getting ready to move into my own
place in Colorado with a nice fenced yard, two blocks from a dog
park. My Master's just turned into a Ph.D., so I'll be here for
awhile. I'd like to give back, so to speak. Outlaw has been an
absolute joy to have. I'm so glad you two rescued him.
Thanks again,
