Zoey's Success Story

I wish I had a photo to attach with this email, but I don't. It's been a year now since we adopted Betty, a Beagle/Dachshund mix. We live in MI and happened to hear about Betty through Petfinder.com. I emailed Bonnie to get more information. Bonnie was great and very prompt in returning my emails and answering questions. When it came time to meet Betty, my husband and I were going to drive down to one of your pet parades. It was then that one of the wonderful women that run AHR volunteered to bring Betty with her as she visited family near us where we could meet her. Well, we fell in love on the spot and brought Betty home that day. She is named Zoey now, and so quickly became a part of our family! She loves to cuddle on the couch with us, frolick in the leaves in our big back yard, and in general, be near us. She has befriended all of our neighbors, children, and their dogs-and since one of our neighbors just lost their dog from old age, Zoey has become their pal and they spoil her to death! We just had a little baby girl in August and Zoey adores her! She gets very concerned when she cries and rushes over to sniff her and see what the problem is. At night, Zoey sleeps in the hall between our room and our daughter's room as if to guard us. As you can tell, she has made her way into our hearts and we are so glad we found her! Sometimes I watch shows like "Animal Cops" on the Animal Planet and look at Zoey and just hurt for what she may have gone through before being rescued by AHR. It is then that I realize how lucky we both were to have found eachother. Thank you Animal House Rescue!
